Disclaimer: The bits that aren't mine, aren't mine, and the bits that are belong to me. <g>
Who among us has not dreamed,
Of trav'lling to another plane,
Of meeting heroes, joining them,
And never coming home again?
Of fighting evil, having power,
Of mutant, god, or magic that,
Always wins -- last night I dreamed,
And in my dream, I did just that.
I woke up in another world,
Where mutants fight, as heroes do,
To rid the world of evil and
Make dreams of peace and love come true.
I saw X-Men, and said hello,
And asked if I could join their fight,
They said their membership was full,
And I should try some other night.
I met a villain (big and mean)
And tried to fight him by myself,
He laughed so hard at my attempt,
He tripped, and fell, and killed himself.
A hero would have followed up,
And found another foe right quick,
But I had brain-goo on my feet,
And I was busy being sick.
When that was done, I tried again,
Went to Genosha, 'cross the sea,
Threw up again (being seasick)
And then Magneto spotted me.
I'm sure a hero would have thought,
Of some bold, witty phrase to say,
But he was awful big up close,
So I just screamed and ran away.
Just one more shot (I know the plot)
T'was time to find my favourite guy,
And let him fall in love with me,
But even THAT one went awry.
My fave already had a girl,
The second choice had passed away,
and when I tried for number three,
(Wouldn't you know) he turned out gay.
That was the last straw for me,
Turned in my magic, wings and all,
Took off the high-heeled boots and
Hung the spandex on the wall.
The dream is more fun as a dream,
And even when I'm asleep, it
Stays a dream, from this day on,
Mary-Sue, dear, you can KEEP it!
