The gates fly open!
The mighty Zarania the Great flies to Africa
Gathers up all the starving children in her straining arms
And Takes them to 7-11 for free hot dogs
And Pretzels
And Slurpees
And Candy Bars--
And Vikki roars down the highway
On her Harley Davidson
Scowling at some jerk next to her who
Dared to cut her off,
So she slides in next to his bike
And Giving it a hearty kick,
Sends him Spiraling off the highway,
Laughing all the while, white teeth gleaming in the sun--
And Dr. Fowler strides into the OR
Hands steady, chin firm
As she reaches into the quivering heart before her
And Reorganizes the arteries, sucking out the fat
Cut
Suture
Sponge
Suction
Live, damnit, live live live--
And Donna trudges home from a tiring day at the office
To find a Casserole bubbling in the oven
The kids reading in the den,
Her husband chopping carrots
And she Slides her arms around his waist
Admiring his taut abdomen, planting kisses
All over his back
Seduction whispering at his ear--
And Chantarelle glides silently behind
Her victim
Giving his neck a soft caress, admiring the
Ba-dump! of his jugular Vein
And she sinks in her Fangs,
Inhuman strength pinioning his flailing arms
As she sucks him dry--
And Hitomi sneers at the ninja who dared
To rape her sister
Reaching into the folds of her kimono
Quick as lightning, shards of light flash from her
Fingertips pounding into hard flesh
THUNK THUNK!
A blur of motion as she unsheathes the Katana
The battle cry "Shi-ne!"
Falling from her lips--
And Paula writhes in bed,
Arms coming around her lover's shoulders,
Bringing his full weight upon her body
Absorbing him, Tasting him
Urging, loving, needing
Wanting more than he can give
And Not even that is enough--
And the women troupe in and out of my mind,
My sisters, my mothers, my daughters
My kin, my enemy
My friend
My Self.
And he wonders why I don't like playing bridge
