Hey! How come my comic-book MST isn't here?

My story got MSTed?!? How dare you? Take it down!

Calm down, calm down, don't pop a blood vessel. Breathe. That's it, breathe... Okay, feeling a little calmer? Right. Being MSTed happens to everyone; granted, the MSTer should have asked your permission first (and I do prefer when they do it that way, as *I* don't get in trouble!), there are different schools of thought on how to obtain stories for MSTing. Obviously, you weren't asked, or you refused to grant it, and now you see your baby abused here and it pisses you off. I understand. Really I do.

Take my word for it: this MSTing was not meant as a personal attack (if I suspected it was, I wouldn't have archived it. I can't speak for older ones archived by Quintas, but she's a nice gal and I doubt she meant any harm either. Even good writers get MSTed. Some writers, good and bad, even enjoy being MSTed. Really! I've been MSTed myself. :)

I know you're ticked off, and I'm cool with that. If you ask me, I'll take down the MST. However, I'd really, really like to keep it onsite -- I love having a full collection here for readers to access at need, and your piece is an essential part of the whole.

With that in mind, please objectively reread the MST in question, think about it for an hour or so (don't worry, this site doesn't get much traffic, no one's likely to read it in that time!), and then contact me. Tell me if you still want it down or if you've decided to give retrospective permission. No hard feelings if you do the former (politely!), but believe me: if you do the latter, you'll look like an awfully good sport. And MSTies adore good sports!

My MST is posted here and you didn't ask me! What gives?

Ooops! That's an unintentional error on my part, I assure you. This archive changed hands in mid-stream and a few pieces of e-mail might have gotten dropped en route. Please, just e-mail me and let me know if I can please keep the MST, with your permission...or tell me to take it down, and I will do so immediately. There's no need to flame me, I assure you.

Hey! How come my comic-book MST isn't here?

It's a big Internet and I'm only one person (well, two a suppose, what with Quintas still pitching in the occasional MST she stumbles across in her virtual travels -- thanks, Mel!). I probably just didn't see it. Please send it to me as a text, WORD, or HTML attachment and I'll take a look. I reserve the right to refuse submissions if they do not fit our guidelines, which are as follows:

  • The fic being MSTed MUST be comic-oriented -- MSTs of comic-book fanfic, comic-based movies, and comic books themselves all count. Crossovers are considered.
  • Profanity and lewd innuendo is allowed but no erotic scenes, either in-MST or in the original text. It's not that I'm a prude, it's that my service provider will punt me offline if I archive smut.
I also reserve the right to refuse a MST if it's obviously just a personal attack on the writer or if it's just badly written in general. (It happens.) Don't fret -- I'm pretty lenient.
